AN adviser to the International Olympic Committee has become the latest person to join the Central Queensland NRL Bid Team.
Ellen Farlow, who is based on her native Capricorn Coast, has a background in business management and major event project management, planning and operations. After working throughout Australia and overseas, she returned home in 2006 to set up her own consulting business and now primarily works with major international clients on Olympic, Paralympic and Commonwealth Games bids, planning and operational delivery.
“I’m very excited about the bid and what it could mean for Central Queensland,” said Ms Farlow, who worked as an operations manager for SOCOG ahead of the Sydney Olympics and has since contributed to organising committees for the Torino 2006 Olympic Winter Games and the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Ms Farlow was also a member of the organising committee behind the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002.
