Your Town

This forum is to tell people about the town you live in in Central Queensland.

So far I have been able to locate a brief history of many towns in CQ but I am still missing quite a few of the smaller one's.

They include, but are not limited to:

Bedouri - Beetotta - Emment - Stonehenge - Yaraka - Middleton - Dajarra - Kyuna - Corfield - Baralaba - Wowan - Banana - Thangoul - Miriam Vale - Mt Larcom - Borenen - Boyne Island - Tannum Sands - Glendon - Coppabella - Tieri - Dingo - Gogango - Westwood - and Gracemere.

Of course there are still many more that I have not researched so if you have any information on any of these towns, etc, please feel free to post it.

In the meantime, I will continue to search for the history of these towns.

Also, if you live in CQ and the town you live in is not listed here as yet, please feel free to write your own history of the town.

Every little bit will help and I can assure you that simply by doing searches for info on the towns that I have already listed, I am chaffing at the bit to go and visit some of them so I can see that history for myself.

Most of the towns mentioned aqbove have now been covered with a brief history and I have now defined the boundaries for CQ Country.

In order to define CQ Country for this forum, I have decided to use the 21st parallel in the north and the 25th parallel in the south to define the boundaries which reach right across to the NT and SA borders.

This of course means that I now have to do a lot more searching for the history of all the towns in that particular region so it looks like a lot of googling for me over the next few months.

Good thing winter is coming up because that means I will spend a lot more time inside hahaha
