The record rainfall for 2008 has continued into 2009 with Emerald (and the CQ region) experiencing a wet start to the new year.

The average rainfall for Emerald in January is 80.4mm over 7 days and so far this year we have had 52.6 over 2 days with 51.6 of that falling on January 2nd.

Today looks like we should have more rain and if the clouds are any indication, we could well beat the average today.
